The Mercedez Benz Stadium is taking shape.
We are excited to be a part of the construction of the new Atlanta Falcons home, Mercedez Benz Stadium. As we get closer to the first seat install I thought I would share some of the new features of what fans could expect.
Put down the sun roof Ma, it's a beautiful day. And if the weather turns the Falcons can close the roof in seven minutes. Retractable roofs are not new thing in stadium construction. The owners wanted a roof that would stay open, but close when necessary.
Have you ever been to a game just to rub shoulders with strangers? It's usually a tight fit and not a highlight of the experience. The seats we are installing will be much roomier. Widening from 19 inches to 21 inches. Thankfully someone has taken into account what the fans want.
Expect to find several open spaces overlooking the field. Fans can enjoy these areas with friends and still enjoy the game.
No need to worry about missing a play. A halo board, the giant circular screen will ring around the entire field measuring 58 feet tall by 1,100 feet around. I can imagine this will become a standard feature in many new stadiums. Not only does it give every fan a view. It will include game or concert information, scores and highlights.
Stay connected in the building. You will not miss the lastest Facebook posts or Twitter feeds. With over 1,800 wireless access points 70,000 people can stimultaneously get high-speed data connections.
The new stadium will also feature lower concession prices. $2 non alcoholic beverages with unlimited refills, $2 hot dogs; pretzels; popcorn, $5 beers and cheeseburger.
So if this isn't enough to get you excited about football season stay tuned for updates and pictures of the seating going in. Who is ready for some football?
